This has been the first election that have been politically aware. I formed my own opinions, despite what my mother says about my education or the media's bias. I voted. I was a part of the process. After the election, I went to NYC to photograph the #NotMyPresident protest that was happening there in front of Trump Tower. People were still in shock. Fear was growing among those in marginalized communities. It was such a difference covering the protests of Trump's Inauguration and the Women's March the next day.
People from all over the country descended on Washington, D.C. They were fired up. These photos show the people who want better. Photographed for the San Francisco Examiner.
